Royalty Competition

…..we are looking for you!!!
If you are a Smith-Green Township Resident, and are interested in being a part of the third annual Turtle Days Royalty Competition, please complete the application. Your application must be turned in no later than June 1, 2011.
The judging is based on a point system. There are several ways to earn points and it is very easy. A completed application will earn you points. The earlier you turn it in, will earn you extra points! 75 bonus points for turning it in by March 31st. 50 bonus points for turning it in by April 29th. Fill it out and send it in to the above address quickly!
We require you to have a money jar (a Mason jar will work, and I have some if you need one) with a 5x7 sheet of info about yourself (the things you enjoy doing and a little bit about yourself). Please attach a small wallet size picture to the sheet. These jars will be located at the Turtle Days Information booth. You will need to ask your family and friends to make a donation to your jar. Every penny donated is a point towards your total. The great thing about this is all money-collected goes towards our Scholarship fund for a Smith-Green High School Senior. We are very excited about this program.
All contestants will be introduced during the opening ceremony on Wednesday, June 15th at 6:15PM at the entertainment tent in the park. You are required to be there for this and should only take about 20 minutes. We will be using your application information for this, so please complete all areas of this form. Also, if you have a talent and would like to show that off, please note it on your application.
Thursday night will be area food donation night. You will have a table set up for food donation! Each item that is brought in and placed on your table will earn you a point! All food donations will go to our area food banks!
The person with the most points will be the winner of a savings bond and some other special gift certificates and prizes. We will also be giving other participation awards too for other participants! In previous years we have given out gift certificates to area restaurants, zoo passes and gift cards to the YMCA!
Crowning of all categories will take place during the parade Saturday June 18, 2011 at 6PM. We will need all contestants to ride our parade float! You will meet at the parking lot behind McDonald’s at 5PM.
